The Volkswagen Jetta returns to the market in 2023. The German manufacturer's sedan remains popular with consumers due to its space, its frugality and its excellent handling, in particular. Moreover, its price is affordable. Indeed, for a car in this category, its base price is less than $23,000, which is remarkable!
The same liveries are offered by Volkswagen: Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The manufacturer also offers the super-powerful GLI model. 16-inch wheels are fitted to the entry-level model, while the other two feature 17-inch wheels. The Jetta compares favorably to other models in the compact class: in particular, the Honda Civic, Mazda3, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Corolla, Kia Forte and Hyundai Elantra. But the German car offers more for the budget: more comfort, more space, better handling and better fuel economy!
Volkswagen relies on its excellent 1.5-liter supercharged 4-cylinder with direct injection. This engine only produces 158 horsepower, but it delivers 184 lb-ft of torque, which is more than enough for the job. In fact, the engine is responsive and responsive at low speed. The Trendline and Comfortline models are offered with a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission. For the Highline livery, the German manufacturer only offers the automatic gearbox. The front drivetrain is the only one offered for the Jetta.
As standard, the Jetta comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto information and entertainment system compatibility, heated seats, heated steering wheel and cruise control.
Heated rear seats are only offered with the Highline. The WiFi hotspot is fitted to the Comfortline and Highline models. The equipment list of these two liveries includes multi-zone automatic climate control, keyless start, electric adjustment of the driver's seat and the rain-sensing wiper system. Note that the keyless unlocking system is standard for all three versions.
What amazes most with the 2023 Jetta is its frugality. None offer as much space and fuel economy. In urban driving, it is possible to report less than 8 liters per 100 kilometers. On the highway, you'll be pleased to see 5.0 liters per 100 kilometers show up in your gas mileage data.
