2018 Volkswagen Atlas: The German People-Mover

The 2018 Atlas is the first Volkswagen SUV to feature three rows of seats. That means that you can fit up to seven passengers inside the Atlas, but you can also opt for two captain's seats in the middle row. Regardless of which configuration you choose, the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is a very spacious vehicle.

It may sit in between the Tiguan and Touareg in VW's SUV lineup when it comes to price, it is definitely the most versatile model in the German automaker's lineup. Between 1,571 litres and 2,471 litres are available depending on how you configure the cabin, and passengers all have plenty of leg and head room.

You will also find within the Atlas all of the tech features you could ever want. Indeed, the 2018 VW Atlas comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity to go along with a wide range of other features found in the various versions.

These include things like three-zone climate controls, power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, heated rear seats, leather seats, and Volkswagen's exclusive digital cockpit. The 2018 Atlas starts at just $35,690.

A Four-Cylinder and a V6 Engine for the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas

The 2018 Volkswagen Atlas is powered out of the gate by a four-cylinder engine that delivers 235 horsepower and that can tow up to 907 kg or 2,000 lb. This option is by far the most efficient with an average fuel consumption rating of 10.6 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, and 8.0 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway.

Next up is a more powerful 3.6-litre V6 engine that delivers 276 horsepower and that can tow up to 5,000 lb.
